Proper nouns are the opposite of common nouns. Proper nouns represent the names of specific person, place, or thing. These the names of days of the week, months, institutions, organizations, religion and so on. The first letter of all proper nouns must be written with a capital letter. In each of the following sentences, the proper nouns are underlined.
- The workshop is on Monday.
- Benedict has just finished installing the Adobe Photoshop Elements software.
- The English Language Support Programme focuses on helping students learn in English.
- There are Malay, Chinese, and Indian students staying at the residential college.
