The basic structure of a report usually consists of three major sections: the preliminary sections, the main sections and the supplementary sections.

The preliminary sections include all the information needed in providing an introduction of the assignment. This includes the title page until the page containing the list of abbreviations and symbols.

Meanwhile, the main sections are the heart of the whole report. All your significant information, details, facts and comments are presented in these sections.

Finally, your report should also contains the supplementary sections whereby all references cited in the main sections are included in the reference list or bibliography. Other materials such as pictures, forms and so on could be attached as appendices.
